SEN & PRU Creative Workshops

Thu 17 Oct 2024

artsdepot is proud to announce the launch of our latest series of creative workshops, bringing exciting artistic opportunities to SEN schools and Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) across Barnet.

Thanks to generous funding from Arts Council England and the John Lyon’s Foundation, artsdepot is thrilled to announce the start of new creative workshops for students in SEN schools and PRUs across Barnet.

These workshops are designed to boost confidence, offer creative opportunities, and strengthen connections among  students. Tailored to meet the unique interests and needs of each group, the workshops span various disciplines, including dance, music, visual arts, performance, and poetry. Each facilitator brings a fresh perspective, using creativity to help students express themselves, form new friendships, and improve their wellbeing.

This term, we’re excited to introduce two new projects. Artist and children’s author Xavier Leopold is working with students at Mapledown School to explore identity through painting. Meanwhile, Sterling from the Young Urban Arts Foundation is leading a music production and lyric writing workshop at Pavilion Study Centre, where students are collaborating to create their own track.

These workshops are part of our ongoing commitment to enriching the lives of young people with disabilities, and to providing them with a platform for self-expression. If you’re interested in facilitating workshops or donating resources to support our work, please contact fleur.adderley@artsdepot.co.uk.

Together, we can continue to create spaces where creativity empowers students and brings communities closer.
