Jazz band Sabra Swing light up the room with Hanukkah hits and festive favourites famously written by Jews – this show will be your swinging soundtrack to the holidays.
Expect a new twist on Hanukkah hits, including Ocho Kandelikas, Dreidel Song, Maoz Tsur and O Hanukkah, with festive songs by Jewish writers from Irving Berlin to George Michael, including And The Angels Sing, Let It Snow, Walkin’ in a Winter Wonderland and Last Christmas.
Featuring Miriam Kramer – “a violinist of superior natural talent” (The Strad), Sara Feldmann Brummer – “sensuous and impertinently hilarious vocals” (This Is Cabaret) and pianist Nicholas Durcan, whose Rhapsody in Blue (Gershwin) was praised as “a sparkling performance” by The Observer. Guest bassist Nick Haward and drummer Hamish Birchall complete the sound.
The New York Times described the band as “soulful and virtuosic”, and their heartfelt, fiery performances make them an audience favourite.
Please note:
Sabra Swing’s violinist Miriam Kramer is unfortunately unable to perform in the show on 19 December, due to the sad passing of her mother this week – Miriam will be in the USA for the funeral.
The band are very saddened by this news, but the show will still be going ahead.
