Meet Klezmer-ish, four incredibly outward-looking musicians who met as members of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
Drawing inspiration from the music of bygone travellers, the instrumental quartet – featuring double bass, piano accordion, guitar, clarinet, violins, viola and woodwind at various times – explore the music brought by immigrants from different cultural backgrounds who left their homelands in pursuit of a different life.
From rip-roaring klezmer and dynamic tango via Kurdish and Balkan tunes to self-penned gypsy jazz, Klezmer-ish bring a trademark twist and exceptional virtuosity to whatever genre takes their fancy. It’s a seamless musical journey, always on the move.
This event is part of Tsitsit Festival 2024
