artsdepot’s bumper day of drawing and creativity returns, jam-packed with activities for all ages whether you are 1 or 101!
Join us for more arty activities than you can shake a pencil at, including:
Experimental Mark-Making and Painting Workshop with Ros from Puffin and Ink Art Classes
11am – 1pm & 2pm – 4pm / All ages
Learn how to use painting techniques to explore line, mark making and colour to suggest a sense of movement, taking inspiration from a range of abstract artists, both famous and emerging including; Gerhard Richter, Joan Mitchell and Liubov Kuptsova. This workshop will allow you to experiment with ways of applying paint using a variety of tools. You will experiment with layering, splashing, scraping, printing, trailing and dabbing paint to create your own unique piece of art.
Kev F’s Comic Art Masterclass
11.30am – 1.30pm / Ages 7+
Kev F Sutherland has written and drawn for Beano, Doctor Who and Marvel comics, and now makes graphic novels adapted from Shakespeare. Now he’ll teach you how easy it is!
After the end of a Comic Art Masterclass, we’ll all take away a comic containing a strip by everyone in the class plus an individual caricature by Kev F.
The Little Yoga Art Club
11.30am – 12.30pm / Ages 1 – 4
A fun movement and sensory art class for preschoolers with breathwork, yoga, singing, mixed-media artwork, bubbles and parachute games.
artsdepot’s Creative Explorers
2pm – 3pm / Age 10 months – 3 years
Come along and explore creativity with your little one through movement, music, storytelling, messy and creative play. Find new child-led ways to play and create whilst developing coordination, creative and motor skills along the way. Become creative explorers and share the journey with other parents, grandparents and carers! Led by experienced and friendly teacher and Dance Artist Cheryl McChesney.
Make Your Own Superhero Puppet Workshop with Maha from For the Fun of Art
11am – 3pm / All ages
Get crafty and create your own moving superhero puppet.
Giant Drawing Pad
11am – 4pm / All ages
Scribble, doodle, and draw using our GIGANTIC drawing pad.
Spirograph Station
11am – 4pm / All ages
Create intricate, symmetrical patterns with this nostalgic geometric drawing toy.
Badge Making
11am – 4pm / All ages
Design and make your own art themed badge. There is a cost for this activity – 50p per badge
Book Swap
11am – 4pm / All ages
The famous artsdepot book swap is back! Books for toddlers, children and adults. Make sure you bring some books with you to get swapping!
All activities are free, with the exception of a small charge for badge making.
