artsdepot Young Company – Workshop Auditions

The company explore and rehearse the play with a professional director from December to April and then perform the play at artsdepot on our Studio Theatre stage as part of the National Theatre Connections Festival week, alongside other local Youth Theatre Companies. 

Connections is the National Theatre’s annual, nationwide youth theatre festival. Each year the National Theatre commissions ten new plays for young people across the UK to perform. Find out more about National Theatre Connections.

Workshop auditions are free and will take place on Tue 26 Nov, 5pm – 7pm.

Who can get involved? 
If you’re aged 13 – 19 and have an interest or curiosity in performing in a play, this is for you! You don’t need to have any previous experience of performing to join our company.  

Why get involved?
This is a wonderful opportunity to explore and develop your performance skills, your confidence and get to know new people interested in the same thing.  

What is the commitment? 
It is an 18-week course, with rehearsals taking place every Tuesday evening, usually 5 – 7pm, from December 2024 – April 2025. There will be a few longer rehearsals and two additional sessions on Saturdays as you approach the performance day on Tue 29 Apr 2025. Participants must be available 10am – 9.30pm on the performance day and for all other course dates, unless an absence request has been approved by the Director. What’s the cost? 
Workshop auditions are free, however it costs £115 to take part in the Young Company. Discounts and subsidised places are available for those in receipt of Income Support or on low incomes (subject to availability). Subsidised places will need to be approved by our Programming & Participation Team, please email isabelle.hetherington@artsdepot.co.uk to enquire.

We will be holding group workshop auditions on Tue 26 Nov, 5pm – 7pm. This is an opportunity for us to meet each other and for you to get a taste of the process.
